Abu Bakr (RTA)
Abu Bakr Abdullah ibn Uthman Abi Quhafa (Arabic: أَبُو بَكْرٍ عَبْدُ ٱللهِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ ابي قحافة 573 CE – 23 August 634 CE) was the dearest friend and, through his little daughter Aisha,[1] a father-in-law of the Islamic prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Hime), just as the first of the Rashidun Caliphs.
Abu Bakr became one of the primary believers of Islam and widely contributed his abundance on the side of Muhammad's (Peace Be Upon Hime) work. He was among Muhammad's (Peace Be Upon Hime) best friends, going with him on his relocation to Medina and being available at some of his tactical contentions, like the battles of Badr and Uhud.
After Muhammad’s(Peace be Upon Him) passing, Islam began to spread rapidly. A series of leaders, known as caliphs, became successors to Muhammad(Peace be Upon Him). This system of leadership, which was run by a Muslim ruler, became known as a caliphate.
The first caliph was Abu Bakr (RTA), Muhammad’s(Peace be Upon Him) father-in-law and close friend.
Abu Bakr (RTA) died about two years after he was elected and was succeeded in 634 by Caliph Umar (RTA), another father-in-law of Muhammad(Peace be Upon Him).
